Year 10 into 11 Information Night

Subject Selection Information for Year 10 into 11 for 2020.

Dear Parent/Caregiver,

You are invited to attend the: YEAR 10 INTO 11 INFORMATION EVENING, 2019

The Year 10 into 11 Information Evening has been designed for parents and students to gather information to make informed decisions about your student’s academic & vocational future.   

Date: Tuesday 30 July, 2019

Venue: Colo High School Hall

Subject Selection Market: 5.30pm to 6.15pm and 7pm to 8pm 

Information Seminar: 6.15pm – 7pm 

 

 

The SUBJECT SELECTION MARKETwill run in the hall and will provide information on the following curriculum options: 

  • Colo High School Faculties– English/ Drama, Mathematics, Science, Personal Development/Health/Physical Education, Social Science, History, Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Computing, Agriculture, Visual Arts, Music/ Dance, LOTE.
  • Careers & Transition Faculty – A McNair (Careers Adviser)
  • School Delivered Vocational Education Framework Courses, at Colo– Hospitality, Construction, Information and Digital Technologies
  •  School Delivered Vocational Education Framework Courses, at other schools - Business Services, Retail, Metal & Engineering, Entertainment and Primary Industries.
  • TAFE Delivered Vocational Education Courses (TVET)
  • School Based Apprenticeships & Traineeships 

The INFORMATION SESSION will be held between 6.15pm and 7pm.  Speakers will address issues including NESA requirements, subject information, making choices and mentoring. The Subject Selection Market will be closed during this time to enable parents and students access to the Information Seminar.  

Students are encouraged to take full advantage of this opportunity to explore the broad diversity of options, and to choose the educational pathway that is most suitable for their educational and vocational needs. We, as a school community, value the opportunity to work with parents and students in making well informed, appropriate decisions regarding further education and training to be undertaken after the completion of Year 10.

All parents are invited to attend this important evening and we are requesting that you indicate your attendance by returning the slip by Thursday 25thJuly 2019.  Parents not attending may contact the school and make an appointment with Ms McNair (Careers Adviser) to discuss Year 10 into 11 Pathway Options.
