Strong community spirit

Good afternoon Colo High community,

As we went about learning yesterday - a student allowed their desk at school to be photographed while they worked on a drawing for Visual Arts. I thought I'd share the attached image with you all. From the mouths........

I continue to be heartened by the strong community spirit, the support of our parents and carers and resilience of our students as we collectively 'soldier on' with learning in these very difficult circumstances.

We are fortunate at Colo to have an amazingly talented and dedicated teaching staff who have worked tirelessly to make this learning begin in a seemingly impossible timeline.

I would like to publicly thank them and I'm sure they would appreciate hearing our community echoing my sentiments.

In response to requests from many parents as to where they might look to find help with online learning, this afternoon we will launch our Colo online learning hub. The hub will contain:

  • parent 'how to' tutorials for the online learning platforms our teachers are using,
  • specific information on learning from every subject area, including how to source google classroom codes for each class and whom to contact if you are having difficulty with online learning,
  •  links to further information and documents that can be used to support learning and student well-being,
  • frequently asked questions and answers - that will be regularly updated as new issues arise,

You will receive an email this afternoon with the link to the page. It will also be put up in a post on this page a little later this afternoon.

We are continuing to focus on support for our HSC students and all students and parents will receive a update email this afternoon from Mrs Wright and Ms Behl. This will explain the latest information we have on the HSC.

Thank you to everyone for their patience and good humour.
Together we WILL get through this.

Warm Regards

Mark Sargeant
Principal
