We are thrilled to announce that our beloved Spirit Week is just around the corner! This proud tradition at Colo has been celebrated annually for over 20 years. It is a unique, weeklong event that aims to encourage student participation, community awareness and school spirit. The SRC invites everyone to involve themselves in the full range of activities on offer during the week to support this year’s nominated charities. It’s a wonderful chance for our students to connect with each other and celebrate the vibrant community we have at Colo. We look forward to seeing everyone’s school spirit shine bright! Dates: Term 2, Week 10 (June 30 to July 4) Donation: We ask our students to make a once off donation of $10, which goes directly to the wonderful charities our SRC have chosen: ‘The Women’s Cottage’ and ‘The Black Dog Institute’. This is great value as the payment covers: · Accessories / Dress Up for the whole week! · Entry into the concert on Friday! · Sausage sandwich and a drink during lunch on Friday! The $10 payment has been invoiced via SchoolBytes. Parents, please log in to your SchoolBytes account and navigate to the ‘Spirit Week’ form to make the payment. Uniform / Dress Up Requirements: · On Monday and Thursday, students must wear full school uniform and can go crazy with themed accessories. · On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, students can dress up according to the themes (no uniform). · Students not participating with the themes are required to wear full school uniform. · All students are required to wear enclosed shoes, as well as wearing appropriate clothing (e.g. no mid-rift tops, no inappropriate slogans etc). · Students wearing inappropriate clothing will be asked to change into school uniform provided by the school’s clothing pool or in some instances, parents may be notified. Friday concert information: · Different year groups will have different year group concerts during the first three periods of the day. · Our big end of term finale… the whole school concert will take place during periods 5 and 6 in the Quad. This is such a fun way to finish off the end of our first half of school for the year. · Please note that our concerts have a great reputation, but we must insist that they are for current Colo High staff and students only. Normal Lessons: It is important that students and parents understand that outside the set activities, normal school lessons will operate for the entire week. Enquiries: Should you have any enquiries, please contact either Selena Purcell or Tanya Ridgewell on 4571 2011.
