Colo High School update

Good evening Colo High community,

Thank you so much for your patience as today we moved to an online version of learning.

None of us could have preempted the impact which we are all experiencing right now, in terms of the online lessons, suddenness of the pandemic or the questions which still remain, regarding school.

Right now, we are ALL adjusting to "doing things differently".

What we do know is that we will plan carefully around each issue which arises and let you know what changes this may bring.

We WILL get through this.

Our student wellbeing team has worked hard to ensure they continue to support ALL students - and tonight or tomorrow every student will receive advice on the support available via their Department email.

This afternoon we have received from NESA further information on the HSC for this year. I would advise all parents and students associated with Year 12 to visit the NESA website to read and digest this information. Tomorrow, our staff will come together to respond to this advice and ensure our Year 12 are given the best support towards the HSC.

I remind parents only to send their children to school if it is essential to do so.

Staff will be available to support learning during their scheduled lessons as we continue to provide learning based on the school timetable. This will help students and parents schedule the amount time spent on each subject each day.

If you have any questions or concerns about learning, in the first instance contact your child's class teacher. The school email account is attended all day and calls to the school will be responded to (but not necessarily immediately).

Tomorrow we will launch the Colo High School online learning hub. It will include information for learning in each faculty as well as external links to online learning opportunities for students wishing to do extra work or engage with further learning.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our community school at this trying time.

Warm Regards
