Welcome to 2023

Welcome to 2023

Welcome to 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope all our students and families have had a positive start to the New Year. We are excited for 2023 and can’t wait to welcome our students back very soon. This letter is just a few important reminders and updates for our community.

Deputy Principal Years 8, 10 & 12

We are saddened to inform the community that Mr Andrew King (Deputy Principal) will be leaving us for Term 1 to take on an exciting opportunity as Relieving Principal at Picnic Point High School. We are thrilled he has this opportunity as he is an outstanding educator and leader. He will be missed by staff and students, but we know this is an opportunity for him to succeed and further his career development. We wish him all the best and will notify the community when he plans to return to our school.

Mr Phil Gordon will be joining our school for the commencement of the year as Deputy Principal. He has been a Deputy Principal for over 10 years and is a welcomed addition to our school and senior leadership team. Mr Gordon will be responsible for Years 8, 10 & 12 and is very excited to be working with our students, parents, and broader community.

Return to School Dates

We can’t wait to see all our students back in the next few weeks. Please see below the dates our students return. Don’t forget that the first day back for students is only for Years 7, 11 & 12.

Rewards System

In our most recent version of Colo in Contact, we announced a revised version of the school Reward’s System. Students and parents will be able to track awards and positive Sentral entries on the Sentral Parent Portal and will be regularly rewarded through the use of the new system. We have not had all the award’s printed and ready for the commencement of Term 1 as they are still being done through a local printer. Please be patient with us as there will be a transition phase of awards. All previous awards will still count towards Principal’s Awards.

Back to School Supplies

Even though our school is BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), our students still need to be packed each day with school supplies and resources. Please see below the 2023 subject stationary and equipment list for requirements for each year group are listed. If there are any issues or concerns purchasing any of this equipment, please reach out to us for support. We are always here to help our community where we can.

Uniform

Colo High School students are always impeccable with their uniform, and this is one of the first things I noticed about our wonderful school. When students and families are shopping for school shoes, can we please ensure that the footwear is safe and appropriate for school. Shoes need to be leather or leather like and be all black. For more information regarding uniform please our uniform requirements and guidelines.

Our Uniform Shop run by our P&C will be open to support our families over the next few weeks. We are grateful for our P&C who run this shop and are supportive of our school. Parents are able to use their Back to School Vouchers and if they require additional information about how to obtain these vouchers, please visit the Service NSW website.
